Beauty Revolution: perfect is over. You were never supposed to be.
Bloomberg Businessweek just published a piece called The Optimization Backlash Has Begun, and it names something I have watched build for years. The culture is getting tired. Tired of identical veneer smiles, tired of faces frozen into the same filter, tired of influencers selling perfection with a discount code attached. The article points out that the same overdone look is now everywhere, in every shopping center, and that audiences are turning toward people who look like themselves, aging honestly and beautifully.
Reading it, I had one reaction: welcome to what we have been doing for more than twenty years.
An imperfect doctor for imperfect patients
I am 55. I am aging right alongside my patients, and I am not chasing a face that belongs to a 25-year-old, for myself or for anyone who sits in my chair. My patients are not perfect people, and they do not come to me to become perfect people. They come because they want to live better, feel healthier, and look like the best, most rested, most alive version of who they already are. The interaction is not perfect, and it does not need to be; you could say it is perfectly, imperfect. That has been my philosophy since long before it had a backlash behind it.
Enhance, never erase
There is nothing wrong with the tools of aesthetic medicine. There is something wrong with using them to erase the person. The difference is the hand and the intention behind them, and this is where nurturing the healthy aging process, rather than fighting it, changes everything:
- PRP skin rejuvenation uses your own platelets to wake up your own collagen. Nothing foreign, nothing frozen; your skin, working the way it did years ago.
- Microneedling triggers your body’s own repair response, refining texture and tone without changing a single feature.
- Fat transfer takes your own tissue and uses it to accentuate your natural beauty features, restoring what time moved rather than installing something that was never yours.
Your own platelets. Your own collagen. Your own fat. Notice the pattern. Natural enhancement means the raw material is you, and the result honors your beautiful imperfections instead of sanding them away. Nobody should look at your face and see a procedure. They should see you, on a great day.
This is the Beauty Revolution
A physician who examines your health, not just your face. A plan built for your one body, not copied from a trend. Treatments that work with your biology, honoring our bodies individually and enhancing the natural beauty, naturally. The culture is finally catching up to something we never left, and I could not be happier to see it.
If you are ready to look like yourself, only healthier and more rested, call or text the office at 480-485-2197 and we will build your plan together.
